Melbourne City

Last month we went roadtripping down South to visit friends in a few places across Victoria. We spent a few days in Melbourne and though I made a personal pact to not take too many photos, I of course did. It was our first family holiday to a city and to celebrate we stayed 31 floors up in a city tower which was a different feel to the usual beach houses we rent.  We took a morning walk around the city doing all the cliche things – checking out the local street art and of course riding the tram and giving the kids the “cultural experience”. It turns out small children aren’t quite as excited about street art as I am so the leisurely stroll I imagined turned into a more hurried morning but I just loved the activity, the rich colours and constant movement of the city so I’ll consider this just a ‘taster’ for my next visit.
