I haven’t blogged here in so so long. It really disappoints me that I’ve let this place go. The truth is, I have been focussing on my new website shelleyreis.com.au and blogging in two places seems a bit hard. Also, this blog has been giving me a bit of a headache – uploading out of order, and reformatting everything once I get my are images, disappearing posts – ugh! So here I am throwing perfection to the wind and going against all the things I would advise others to do simply to keep my memories in one place.
We went away for my birthday and even though it was just a short getaway it was the most restorative and restful few days I’ve had in a long time. I think it was possibly my favourite holiday I’ve ever taken. We rented a tiny beach shack with the most gorgeous original 1960s features. My favourite being the vibrant orange wallpaper. I knew I wanted to take some self portraits (birthday tradition after all!) but I also just wanted to document and experiment as well. I’m not sure if it’s the associated happy memories, but some of these images are up there with my favourite images that I’ve ever shot. So I am sharing a huge volume of them here, thanks to WordPress, they are completely out of order, but time is of the essence right now so I’m going to let my inner perfectionist go and just press Publish.
