Lola just LOVES to hang out in our front garden – picking flowers and finding treasures for me. We often spend the last half an hour before dinner sitting out on the front porch while she explores her surrounds.
When Oscar’s at preschool we often play in his room. It is tiny but it has all the nice light in the afternoon and more importantly for Lola all the Matchbox Cars she can handle. It feels a bit traitorous to let his sister play with his toys while he’s away but that ten minutes of peace is so sweet.
Lola has picked up this most adorable habit of copying Tim’s every move. Most of the time he doesn’t even notice her doing it but while I was walking a few paces behind I noticed her looking up at him and placing her hands behind her back to mimic his walk. It was such a gorgeous spontaneous moment and I was so lucky to have my camera in hand to catch it.
Being Spring and the onset of more motivating weather we got the idea to declutter our house – starting with the kids’ wardrobes. It’s always a bittersweet time going through and packing away all the tiny clothes that your baby has outgrown – her tiny size 000 suits, her first Christmas dress, pretty little pink things gifted to us by friends and family. I decided to document the process with a series of self portraits.
Nothing like a late afternoon game of soccer. Oscar begged and begged us to take him to the park to play but while there became too ensconced in playing on the clmbing equipment. Lola happily took his place chasing down and kicking the ball with surprising accuracy – we’re hoping we’re raising the next Ronaldo.
